GP taking a call

The wellbeing caller offers practical and emotional support in a warm welcoming and friendly manner.

The wellbeing caller will remain consistent during the duration of the support, a day and time will be agreed with the caller on first contact.

For patients prescribed anti-depressants or newly diagnosed with depression, short term support over 4-6 weeks can be provided; wellbeing calls by telephone or via digital platforms provides a safe place for individuals experiencing mental health problems; for some patients this will also reduce loneliness and/or social isolation.

This project covers Thurrock, Basildon, Brentwood, Braintree, Chelmsford and Maldon and surrounding areas in Mid and South West Essex.

To receive this support a referral is required from one of the following; GP, Primary Care Mental Health Team, Primary Care Network (PCN), Social Prescribers, other health care professionals e.g., Pharmacists, Talking Therapies.
